As the Walton College brand continues to evolve, our team has been proactive in staying attuned to the needs of the departments that share and implement this identity alongside us. Through extensive research and collaboration, we’ve worked diligently to ensure the assets we create truly support and empower these teams.
A significant step in solidifying the Walton brand identity has been the transformation of our school's SharePoint site into a comprehensive, user-friendly hub for all branding resources. This one-stop shop organizes our services into clear categories tailored to the diverse needs of campus employees. Whether it’s merchandise for an event, PowerPoint templates for presentations, or document and social media assets for LinkedIn accounts, we’ve made it easy to find and access the right tools. Additionally, we’ve revamped our brand guide and introduced streamlined merchandise catalogs to simplify and expedite requests, ensuring consistency and convenience across all branding efforts.
The Brand Guide
Over several months, we developed a new brand guide for Walton College. This guide highlights how the college's identity fits within the broader University of Arkansas brand while maintaining its own distinct visual style. It outlines the college's mission, vision, and values, and provides best practices to help stakeholders across the college create assets that align with our brand strategy. This resource ensures a cohesive and professional representation of Walton College while empowering departments to create effective, brand-consistent materials.
The Merchandise Guide
One of our team's primary responsibilities is managing merchandise requests for all nine departments and numerous offices at Walton College. Employees rely on us to design merchandise and SWAG for a variety of purposes, including student events, recruitment efforts, personal use, college-wide initiatives, and more. To support the demand, we developed a merchandise catalog during the rebrand. This catalog serves as a valuable starting point for stakeholders, providing them with pre-designed options and inspiration. By creating this resource, we’ve streamlined our workflow, utilizing templates that have significantly reduced revision cycles and minimized back-and-forth communication, ultimately saving time and energy.
The Social Media Guide
As our business programs have grown in popularity, more departments have sought to expand their online presence to share information about their majors and student engagement efforts. However, with limited capacity to manage social media for all nine departments, our team developed a basic social media guide to address common questions about what and how to post and provide support.
This guide is complemented by a set of assets tailored to each department, including social media templates, profile pictures, and best practices. Our goal is to help departments create content that aligns closely with our brand identity and maintains a cohesive visual connection to the college's official social media accounts. By using the templates and design advice provided, departments can confidently manage their accounts while ensuring consistency across platforms.
